There have been many times during teaching jiu jitsu that I wished this was a thing. Fortunately I’m fairly articulate enough to explain myself, but several time I have expressed a wish that the image in my head be projected on a wall, I could point to it and say “here, do this, not that”
And we are one step closer to that glorious future: artificial intelligence is on its way to recreating images that are in the human brain.
As you can see, it’s not quite there yet, but it’s an exciting start!
Anyway, check out the article on IFLScience to learn more about it and have a great day everyone!
So we all know that one of the biggest barriers when it comes to jiu jitsu is the unwillingness to engage in physical contact with others. Well, scientists apparently have mapped out what is considered the “no go” zones when it comes to touch, based on the relationship with another person.
As the article states, “physical contact is hugely tied to social bonding and social structure”, which is probably why there is such a close knit bond with the people you train with in the gym: not only are you all training together with (usually) the same group over and over again, but this is a full contact sport- you are engaging in TONS of physical contact with someone.
Check it out, and let me know what you think. Otherwise, have a great day everyone!

Well this is a new one: a recent study suggests that individuals with the AB blood type are more at risk of developing memory problems later in life.
I would totally blame my inability to remember certain details on techniques if I didn’t know my own blood type, but due to donating blood I actually do know my blood type and it’s definitely one of the more common ones (A positive). Well, so much for that excuse.

IFLscience recently posted Gif images of joints moving under x-ray. How cool would it be if someone could manage taking the same kind of image of something like a omoplata or an armbar?
