Good morning everyone- so the Abu Dhabi Pro Trial….Er, I mean, Championships are up on their website (which is a little sparse, TBH). It looks like the majority of tournaments are happening from October through the end of February.
If you would like to check out the schedule for yourself, you can find it here.
Last week during the Abu Dhabi World Pro Tournament, Mackenzie Dern won the semi finals match against Gabi Garcia, which you can watch here:
According to a comment on the video, someone mentioned Gabi there was an issue with the points, saying she deserved two for throwing Dern. I actually watched the video to see what she was talking about, and I can see what she’s talking about- it happens around 3:40-3:45 of the video, at the same time I can see why the ref didn’t call it.
What do you think? Did she deserve the two points, or no? Let me know- otherwise, have a great day!
So admittedly I did not watch any of the WPJJC matches live. But, if you are just like me and missed all the action, you are in luck: DSTRYRsg was kind enough to post matches from the tournament onto their site.
Unfortunately there are no women’s matches on their page- if anyone knows where we could find those, let me know.
Please by all means go to the LapelChoke website to check out what’s going on with the Abu Dhadi Pro tournament: I’m sure it’s infinitely more interesting than what I have been up to: crashing email, printers that won’t work, software refusing to open, forgetting my gi pants for class, sinus pressure and all other sorts of tomfoolery.
I’ll have something more interesting to post tomorrow, I swear. But for now, get all international-like and check out what’s going on at the tournament!
