Ze Grapplez has a somewhat interesting (and brief) article on opponents disengaging and “fleeing” fights in 2017. I don’t think this is something that anyone does with any real joy in their heart or spring in their step: it’s either that is the only way they can see to re-engage in the fight, or they just don’t know what else to do- I’m not sure, to be honest.
Anyway, check it out and have a great day everyone!
So, I’ve been on vacation for the past couple of days to spend time with my family for the Christmas holiday, and I hope you all have been spending time with your loved ones as well.
And speaking of family, I took an Ancestry.com DNA test a couple of weeks ago. Most surprising result? I’m apparently 22% Scandinavian. Huh. Did not see that one coming. Sadly, no South American/Brazilian heritage, like not even a sliver.
Well, I’ll be back in the gym and rolling soon enough- in the meantime, take some time to listen to this podcast from BJJ Brick about the depth of your BJJ pool.
Have a great day everyone!
Hey Guys, Stephen Kesting has a pretty good article on the basics of starting a conditioning program for BJJ.

Super early, I know- but today’s the last day to shell out under $100 for Pans. It may be a little too far ahead for some, but I know that’s the one tournament that I always attend throughout the year so I’m comfortable signing up.
For anyone else that’s fairly sure that they are also going to be competing at Pans, sign on up and have a great weekend!
According to one recent study, there may be a benefit to being left handed in some sports, mainly one with a time constraint.
I haven’t noticed a real benefit to being a south paw in jiu jitsu, to be honest- just a confused look from my partner when I want to drill something on the left side because it just feels more natural.
Anyway, check out the article and have a great day everyone!
Flograppling has an interesting article about 5 of the best black belts out there, that have never won an IBJJF World Title. #1 will shock you!….
Jk, I’m not into clickbait: it’s JT Torres, which I am frankly surprised about: I figured he would have won at least one of them.
Check out the article, and have a great day everyone!
