Article on Overtraining in Martial Arts

It’s a hard pill to swallow, admitting that you are potentially overtraining. You want to keep pushing, to keep going and to keep improving, but if you’re are consistently pushing at that pace all the time, then there’s a very real chance that you are doing more harm to yourself then good.

    Wow! This is the eight hundredth time (or something like that) this overtraining article has somehow ended up in my inbox. Is the universe trying to tell me something?! It’s a great article and has some excellent points about overtraining. So thanks for sharing it! In fact, I took a yoga class last night instead of going to kickboxing and jiu jitsu classes…and I feel so much better today! Overtraining? Maybe. In my personal experience, I have a kind of built-in once-a-month resting time when my body is like, “yo, I’m done with this stuff, let’s nap and eat bonbons!”…so I listen and we compromise with yoga and pizza.
