Science! Acceptance of Silly Inspirational Quotes Linked to Lower Intelligence

We all have that friend on Facebook: the one that puts up that “inspirational quote” with the lovely background. the one you look at, cock your head a little to the side and think to yourself, “Uh, what?”

There’s a study recently that is pretty interesting because: A) they found that people who believe these vague, “profound” statements to have lower intelligence. B) someone took the time to put this study together in the first place, probably because they were tired of all of those silly inspirational quotes popping up on their Facebook feed. And C) the researchers defined these faux profound statements as “bullshit”- and continued to use the term approximately 200 times in an academic paper. Which is hilarious. And awesome.

Check it out, let me know what you think- otherwise, have a great day everyone!
