The Importance of Healthy Eating Habits

Not to bring down the vibe, but this video really brings home the importance of healthy eating habits and exercise from an early age.

While I don’t think the occasional cup of juice or a french fry for a toddler will immediately doom them to a lifetime of obesity I definitely think fried and ultra sugary foods should be a rare treat, not a part of their regular diet. Getting kids outside to play and explore is also pretty crucial to this whole thing, but I agree that bad eating habits early in life can be a detriment to a person further down the road.

    When I was a youngster, my father always had us eat well. Lots of vegetables and fruits. Lots of lean meat and grains. Occasional treats… We were always active and played outside a lot instead of parking our asses. We were always involved in sports all seasons. Now I eat like crap and get fatter and fatter with every year. The healthy habits from an early age didn’t help me much. My wife on the other hand ate French fries with every meal and had lots of fried foods. Now she’s getting applause in the gym from random men. Weird, right?
