Fear is the mind-killer. Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration. I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over me and through me… Only I will remain.
While most of us know that this is from the science fiction book Dune, I was reminded about fear being the “mind-killer” for some reason today. As white belts, or novices in anything we have what seems to be an almost overwhelming amount of fear, which is understandably- there is an element of the unknown, which can be intimidating. By working through that fear though you do learn more about about yourself, your strengths and weaknesses, which will help you improve.
And give you the ability to ride huge sandworms.
…I’m sorry, I couldn’t help but slip in another Dune reference.
